Lately I’ve been up to my eyes in hooping videos. It’s made me realize how much I could benefit from making my own hooping videos regularly.
Also- it would be pretty cool to get a visual on how my flow progresses.
Also- one if the ideas we originally threw around for this blog was sharing what we were listening to. I tend to listen to a lot of the same music over and over again (I blame all internet music sources being blocked where I work – meh), but Kyle is always stumbling on new music.
So here’s how it’s gonna work: Kyle’s going to pick a song, and I’m going to make a video of me hooping to it. Sound good?
Week 1: This song actually came off of Cam’s most rest fest mix. It’s Banana Cannon by Robotic Pirate Monkey.
I’m doing this on my phone, so I’m only going to be able to link you to the video (sorry! Better than no post at all, yes?). CLICK HERE PLEASE
P.S. Feedback is more them welcome! What tricks should I incorporate more/ less/ improve on??
Warm weather = NOT hooping in the house. And let me tell you, that is something to be thankful for. I mean it’s great having the option to hooping inside, but 1) it’s extraordinarily limiting and 2) one day I might actually break something.
One on the other hand, hooping outside sometimes also means battling with trees…
Unedited Joy. Mistakes Included 🙂
I could never hula hoop when I was a kid. I’d push it and it would circle around me maybe three times and then fall to the ground. I figured it was one of those things that just didn’t work for me (like somersaults… I’m quite the clutz).
Two summers ago, the day I met Kyle, I was hanging out in my friend’s yard in Pittsburgh and she brought out a grown up hula hoop. I made a joke that I probably still couldn’t do it and picked it up anyway. Then something magical happened:
…I did it!
And I have pretty much been obsessed ever since. Last summer I convinced my wonderful friend Eva to join me (which is lucky since she has a much bigger/ less crowded living room than me – hehe).
We got a chance to get together last weekend and record some videos of us hooping to share.
Someday I’m going to nail the step in/step out trick, some day.
I love how deliberate Eva’s movements are. So pretty!
So… anyone interested enough to join us?!
